About us
The Ensemble Reflexion K based in the Baltic resort of Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein, making it Germany’s most northerly-located soloist ensemble for contemporary music. The ensemble was founded in 2001 on the initiative of young, ambitious musicians who nurture their curiosity for the most recent contemporary music with passion and verve with a focus on the most diverse aspects of contemporary art.
Reflexion K addresses itself to a wide variety of composers from Germany and across the world in unconventional projects frequently incorporating spatial, theatrical and interdisciplinary aspects.
In addition to performances across Germany, regular concert tours have taken the musicians of the Ensemble Reflexion K through Europe, Asia and North and South America.
Recordings have been made with virtually all German broadcasters and CDs of the ensemble have been issued on the labels ambitus, NEOS, Coviello and mode records. In August 2016, the CD “Gerald Eckert – on the edges” (mode records) was nominated in the list of top recordings for the German Music Critics’ awards.
